ANNOUNCing BEHEMOTH PRESS
announcing behemoth press
The editorial team of Behemoth Magazine has decided to channel from previous journalism experience to expand its content by focusing on writing articles in relation to promoting previous works in the magazine’s archives and any articles of relevance through Behemoth Press. The Aftershock zine series could have been turned into a journalistic press, but we decided against that. Aftershock was fertile ground for exploration and art—and some essays were published in them—but its format and its idea largely clashed with what the team wanted to do; explore video games, literature, film, art, culture, comics, and whatever else interests us through writing, creator interviews, criticism, and behind-the-scenes storytelling in the form of quick digestible articles.

Behemoth Press is an independent media journal made by members of Behemoth with professional experience in nonprofit communications, university publications, and community-based editorial work.
In addition to written coverage, Behemoth Press will create a consistent development for Jaws of the Behemoth; the podcast series featuring conversations with independent and industry creators. Jaws is intended to highlight a more fluid, lively conversation with artists and their artistic processes that a stuffy article can’t accomplish to the same way a dialogue can.

Behemoth Presses philosophy is founded in the belief that narrative forms exist within a shared medium. Covering an array of topics will allow the news outlet to discuss literature in its relevancy to life and pop culture.
Behemoth Press wants to document the everexpanding, all collapsing web of art and present them as an open-source reference.
This statement addresses that Behemoth Press, as an independent editorial platform, will be a foundation of consistent coverage, critical inquiry, and in-depth engagement with contemporary media landscapes with the goal to inspire future writers creatives.
Behemoth Press is committed to reporting on culture not from a safe cold distance, but from within the chaotic creative web that created it.
