tHE aTOMIKS
During LitMagWeek, we are proud to announce that the team has been working on a new zine under the direction of Connor Braaten. The Atomiks is Braaten’s take on traditional Western comics, drawing from the influences of Jack Kirby and John Byrne’s contributions to Fantastic Four, and the visual language of Japanese animation and works like Giant Robo.
The ATOMIKS is a reluctant super hero team comprised of unique characters with otherworldly superhuman abilities. Written and created by Connor Braaten, the series will first debut as it’s own fifteen page zine, introducing the team, it’s characters, and the world that they are in service to.

Under Braaten’s initiative, a portion of sales from the zine will be donated to the Kirby Museum, honoring the legacy of one of the artists that helped shape the project.
